Maricopa Region 911, a Solacom case study

"To do the kinds of things we wanted to do, we needed a more robust IT platform... Our analog selective router platform was coming to its end of life, was no longer going to be supported, and provided very minimal NG9-1-1 capabilities," says Liz Graeber, a Maricopa Region 9-1-1 administrator, who oversees the 9-1-1 system.

Maricopa Region 911 provides 9-1-1 emergency services to the citizens of Maricopa County, a vast region in Arizona that encompasses more than 9,000 square miles, which includes the city of Phoenix. In 2016, the team secured funding for the heart of its NG9-1-1 network infrastructure — the selective routers. And, that gave them the opportunity to replace the legacy selective routers at its network centers in metropolitan Phoenix and Mesa.
