Today, the world for public safety answering points (PSAPs) is evolving at an unprecedented rate. The types and volumes of calls they receive, the technologies available to them, and the pressure to respond faster are all increasing.

To achieve the required levels of speed, accuracy, and interoperability needed for efficient and effective NG9-1-1 operations in today's environment, PSAPs must deploy NG9-1-1 solutions that are fully integrated all the way from the network that receives the 9-1-1 call, through the emergency call handling and management system, to the computer-aided dispatch (CAD) solution. And, in the not-too-distant future, PSAPs will also be required to support multimedia text messages that include photos and videos, as well as real-time texting (RTT).
